Travelbeen™ is a highly ambitious service, collating the world’s largest collection of travel websites, categorising, indexing and mapping every page to a location or destination.

Travelbeen™ is truly social, users can see the popularity of a travel website, based on the number of bookmarks that it has received. Bookmarking can be done within Travelbeen™ or on travel websites that have signed up to the bookmarking service.

It is one place where consumers can keyword search across hand picked travel companies; see the destinations they cover, their accreditations and popularity.

Over 15,000 travel companies are already included and our next target is 200,000.

Travelbeen™ is based in New Zealand and also has versions for Australia, US, UK, South Africa, Canada and India.

How we do it.....

• Only Handpicked Travel Websites
  Travelbeen™ is a new kind of travel service. We have been to every travel website, categorised them and then automatically crawl and index them into the Travelbeen™ search.

• Destinations
  Once a travel website has been approved we have a very clever robot that analyses all pages on the website and shows a summary of the main destinations.

• Associations and Official Bodies
  When we visit a website we will capture (where visible) any association that the travel company belongs to.

• Save your Favourites
  We provide an online bookmarking service so when you are browsing within Travelbeen™ or on travel websites you can save them into folders accessible online from anywhere with internet access.

Travelbeen™ officially launched on the 11th November 2008 by Ed Whiting and Gene Campbell, both of New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand, both with extensive careers in Internet, Travel, Technology and Search.
